Thank you to the president, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends of Carroll College. And thank you for choosing me to be one of the recipients of the Carroll G.O.L.D Alumnus Award. I am truly thankful and honored.

Latoya (Conners) Pierre '99
Latoya (Conners) Pierre '99 was involved in many activities as a Carroll student. Among them were Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, Student Senate, the College Activities Board and Black Student Union. She also organized Spring Fling one year and was Homecoming Queen one year.
Latoya recognized the importance of Carroll’s travel abroad opportunities and extended her educational experience to Kenya, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras and El Salvador through Carroll’s New Cultural Experiences Program. She received Carroll’s prestigious Senior Award and graduated with a bachelor of science with honors in biology and public administration. In spring 2001, she graduated from the H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University with a master’s degree in public policy and management. While at Carnegie Mellon, she earned scholarships, fellowships and several awards.
Her resume includes International Business Machines and MarketSphere, LLC. She has managed several high-stakes projects, including the $62 million voting machine implementation for Pennsylvania in 2006 and the Globalization Project for Carnegie Mellon University as it expanded to six international locations. She was recently promoted and continues her work at MarketSphere as a manager in the Human Capital and Enterprise Applications practices.
Latoya is a well respected adjunct instructor at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where she has taught and developed course curriculum for marketing, business administration, professional development and freshman studies classes. She is a member of the Carroll College Alumni Council, a board member with Family Guidance of Pittsburgh, an Alumni Executive Board member at Carnegie Mellon University, former governing board member at Allegheny Center Alliance Church, a founding board member at Synergy in Seattle, chair of the Board of Parents Council at Providence Family Support Center.
She lives in Pittsburgh, Pa., with her husband, Achille and daughter, Leida Pierre.
