Robert Alt ‘49: eight-letter winner in basketball, football and track. He led his 1947 football team in ground-gaining stats with 6.6 yards; 6.1 yards in 1948. He earned four letters in track for shot-put and javelin. He held javelin records at Ripon, Lawrence and Milwaukee State Teachers College as well as at Carroll. In the Javelin-Beloit Relays, he won the 1946 silver medal, 1947 silver medal and 1949 gold medal. He won the gold medal in the 1948 Javelin-Elmhurst Intercollegiate Invite. Alt was chosen as the 1949 Hinky Hero. He lives West Allis, Wis., and enjoys hunting and fishing.

Glenn Blum ‘68: football, track and wrestling star who earned 11 letters at Carroll. In 1968, he was the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin shot-put champ, team captain and MVP. Blum was the 1967 CCIW heavyweight champ, and a heavyweight runner-up in 1965, 1966 and 1968. He was also the Team MVP in 1965 and 1967. In 1968, he was named the Hinky Hero. He was the assistant varsity football coach at Oconto, Wis., High School, 1969-87; from 1970-88, he was the head varsity wrestling coach. He was also the varsity head track coach from 1969-80; his team took second place in the 1980 Class B State Championships. He lives in Oconto and is an elder at Oconto Presbyterian Church, where he is in the bell choir and a gospel singer.

Bill Mullen ‘65: earned 10 letters in basketball, football and track. He lettered in football his sophomore and junior years, and all four years for basketball and track. He was All-Conference in basketball his junior and senior year, and was captain of the basketball and track teams his senior year. Mullen was named Little All-American Basketball as a senior, and was ranked 13th nationally among small schools for rebounding. After four years in the “C” Club, he was the 1965 Hinky Hero. He played amateur basketball after graduation, and has also helped coach little league. He lives in Watertown, Wis. |

W. Chris Ramsey ‘75
four-letter winner for both cross-country and track. He was named the Most Valuable Runner in cross-country and received the McCormick Memorial Trophy in 1973 and 1974. He was also team captain those years and was captain of the track team in 1975. He was head women’s track coach at Waukesha (Wis.) North High School, 1976-93, and at Waukesha West, 1994 to present. In 1985, 2000 and 2001, he was the Track District Coach of the Year. He was the Head Women’s Cross-Country Coach of the Year three years. He was the Wisconsin Cross-Country Division I Coach of the Year six years. He was inducted into the Wisconsin Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2003. His teams have won eight Division I championships in cross-country and four Division I championships in track. Ramsey lives in Waukesha. |
