A Carroll Tradition
At Carroll, keeping tuition affordable has always been a priority. In the 1855-1856 academic catalog, the college encouraged donors to provide scholarship incentive plans for students. Charles Dakin, one of Carroll’s first donors, responded by providing a four-year scholarship to a clerk who worked in his store.
Today, Carroll College is a much different institution than it was in the 1850s. We are proud of the growth in enrollment, the breadth of our academic program offerings and the minimal increases in tuition.
Carroll’s defining strength has been its continued commitment to an education grounded in the liberal arts while recognizing the needs of 21st century stud-ents and their future employers. Over the past 10 years, Carroll has demonstrated an ability to evolve academic programming in response to these needs by offering a unique blend of liberal arts and professional programs in 37 undergraduate majors, as well as graduate programs in education, physical therapy and software engineering.
