Professional Phase Curriculum

The curriculum is developed around 4 content areas:

General Medicine
Musculoskeletal
Neurological
Professional

Curricular Philosophy based on the following:
Strong science base applied throughout the professional program within the context of the r content areas.

Continuous integration of theory and practice via patient experiences within classes, client experiences both on campus and off campus via the Teaching Laboratory Practice and during clinical internships.

Collaborative teaching within and across the 4 content areas providing planned redundancy of course material.

Values that are stressed throughout the program:

  1. Ethical inquiry and practice as outlined in the Physical Therapy Code of Ethics
  2. Student self-management of the learning process; students become responsible for their own learning
  3. Students learn because they value learning and their growing competence, not because of external rewards
  4. Faculty and students share the same vision of the curriculum and profession
