dot

Software engineering is a profession in which knowledge of computer science and social sciences, gained by study, experience and practice, is applied with judgment to develop ways to construct software using, economically, the technological and human resources for the benefit of mankind.Software engineers have been highly sought after in recent years and are expected to remain so.

Carroll University also offers a master’s degree in software engineering (MSE). However, high school graduates can earn both a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and an MSE in five years or less. This five-year program allows students to gain solid computer science background and advanced professional software development skills on an accelerated pace. The program allows students to be able to complete a BS degree in four years or less should they choose not to continue with the five-year program. Students can apply for admission to the five-year program as freshmen or before they start their junior year. Students are expected to maintain a higher academic standard to remain in the program.
