Curriculum
- The mission of the program is to provide a superior educational opportunity, grounded in the liberal arts, for students.
- The program aims to develop generalist nurses who will be ready for professional practice in a variety of settings.
- The program prepares students to take on characteristics that will allow them to function in three broad areas that encompass the professional nursing role: 1.) nurses as providers of direct and indirect care to individuals, groups, communities and populations; 2.) nurses as designers, managers and coordinators of care; and 3.) nurses as members of a profession.
- Nursing courses begin in the first year, allowing students to identify early with their chosen profession.
- The nursing courses build on the knowledge gained from the liberal arts background in humanities, fine arts, social sciences and natural sciences.
- The program has five semesters of sequenced clinical experiences in a variety of settings.

- Demand for nurses with bachelor’s degrees is predicted to climb by 40 percent by 2010.
- 100 percent of graduates who wish to work obtain nursing career placements in many diverse areas.

- Computer-based testing assessment program for all nursing students throughout their course of study that aims to assess and allow the student to prepare for licensure in a more focused manner.
